Artist Statement The series "double dare" explores estrangement and displacement, the attempt to control ourselves and our surroundings and being unable to do so. In a collage-like process the images are developed from constructed installations in combination with existing settings. Particularly in the focus on natural versus artificial, the images play with contradicting elements to create scenarios in which the anonymous figures face a barrage of everyday objects, an exploded diary of life. Shifts in scale and haphazardness are underscored by the use of double exposure, emphasizing a sense of ambiguity and awkwardness.   Bio 1973  Born in New London, Connecticut, USA.
